With a goal in each half, Hamrun Spartans defeated Sliema Wanderers 2-0 in a match from the YoHealth Malta Premier Closing Round league phase at the Tony Bezzina Stadium on Saturday.
Hamrun, therefore, returned to winning ways following the goalless draw with Valletta and now lie two points behind leaders Gzira United. Sliema, on the other suffer a second consecutive defeat.
Joseph Mbong put the Spartans ahead on 11 minutes and Damir Ceter sealed the issue with a second goal six minutes in added time.
