Floriana re-joined Gzira United on top the YoHealth Malta Premier table following a goalless draw with eternal rivals Valletta in a match from the Closing Round league phase at the Tony Bezzina Stadium on Wednesday.
The Greens therefore maintain a two point lead over Valletta and Hamrun Spartans while maintaining their unbeaten record in the Closing Round. For Valletta, this was the second draw in three matches.
Zach Scerri went close to putting the Greens ahead on 22 minutes but his fine effort from the edge of the area ended just over the bar while Sava Radic had a shot from inside the area just missing the target five minutes later.
Ten minutes in the second half, Guilherme Cioletti performed a fine save on a low Shaft Brewer effort and on the hour, Brandon Paiber had a free kick ending over the bar. Ten minutes later, the Floriana goalkeeper saved in two attempts a Yuri Messias effort.
