Tricky test for Floriana

Floriana will be hoping to extend their positive run with a fifth consecutive win as they take on Mosta in one of the two BOV Premier League matches in programme on Saturday.

The Greens won seven of the last eight matches and against Mosta, they seek the the three points to maintain the pace with Valletta and Hibernians.

However Mosta will be aiming for a positive result from the game in their bid to climb up the table. The Blues lost just one of the last seven matches and claimed seven points from the last three matches.

New signing Terence Vella is set to make his debut for Mosta but Dyson Falzon is ruled out injured. Eric Akoto and Onome Sodje are ruled out injured for Floriana.

In the first round, Floriana registered a dramatic 3-2 win over Mosta.

Meanwhile in the first match, leaders Valletta are firm favourites to return to winning ways as they take on Marsaxlokk in a top-bottom clash. Valletta lead the way with 45 points while Marsaxlokk lie at the bottom with 11.

The Citizens dropped two points in a goalless draw with Sliema in their last outing – their second draw in three matches. However considering the Southseasiders’ current form, the game seems more of a matter of how
many goals willl Valletta score.

Marsaxlokk lost the last six games and have gone eight matches without scoring a goal. Against Valletta, they will only aim at making their life difficult.

Serbian midfielder Ivan Kurtesic and Brazilian striker Alex Pedrosa are expected to make their debut for Marsaxlokk. On the other hand, Burkina Faso defender Saidou Mady Panadetiguiri will be making his debut for Valletta following his return from the African Nations Cup.

In the first round, Valletta won 2-0.
