Attard moved three points clear in the BOV Amateur League I after defeating Mellieha 2-1 at the Luxol Stadium on Saturday.
Nick Ghio put Attard ahead on 35 minutes. Precious Uchechukwu Nwankwo doubled the score on 65 minutes with Leon Borg reducing the gap thanks to a penalty six minutes in added time.
Qormi rescued a point in a 2-2 draw with Mqabba in a clash between the teams lying in second and third place at the Luxol Stadium. Neil Magri handed Mqabba the lead on 13 minute sand Brandon Micallef doubled the score on 28 minutes. Kieran Paul Fenech reduced the gap on 45 minutes and Jayden Zac Borg equalised on 76 minutes.
Lija Athletic defeated Kirkop United 2-1 at the Sirens Stadium. Wagner put Lija ahead on 37 minutes. Miguel Zammit equalised on 46 minutes but Lyvann Obissa notched the winner on 65 minutes.
At the Sirens Stadium, Victoria Hotspurs beat Pembroke Athleta 2-1. Rondinely put the Hotspurs ahead just before the end of the first half and although Lucas Gomes equalised on 76 minutes, Ferdinando Apap made it 2-1 four minutes later.
On the other hand, in another match at the Sirens Stadium, Xghajra Tornados came from behind to beat Zejtun Corinthians 2-1. Kevin Tulimieri put Zejtun ahead on 11 minutes but Cedric Zahra equalised on 33 minutes and the same player made it 2-1 on 74 minutes.
Attard lead the way with 34 points, followed by Qormi on 31, Mqabba and Lija 27, Victoria 26, San Gwann 21, Qrendi 18, Xghajra 17, Pembroke 14, Kirkop, Zejtun and Luqa 13, Mellieha 11 and Senglea 10.
