Zabbar St. Patrick earned their first point in the YoHealth Malta Premier Closing Round league phase as they held Hamrun Spartans in a goalless draw at the National Stadium on Friday despite playing for half an hour in ten men.
Led for the first time by new coach Gilbert Agius, the Saints held on to the end to register a first positive result after five defeats in the first five matches. Hamrun, on the other hand, were eager to bounce back after the defeat to Hibernians in the BOV Super Cup. They are still second but risk being overtaken by Hibernians and Marsaxlokk this weekend.
Zabbar St. Patrick had goalkeeper Manuel Djalo sent off on 64 minutes after a foul on Jonny outside the area.
