Unlike recent years, the journey of Maltese clubs taking part in UEFA club competitions this season was short-lived.
Floriana were eliminated from the UEFA Champions League first qualifying round, losing 3-5 on aggregate to Shamrock Rovers and then from the UEFA Conference League second qualifying round, losing 2-3 on aggregate to FC Drita.
Hamrun Spartans entered the UEFA Conference League first qualifying round, losing 2-3 on aggregate to NSI Runavik. Marsaxlokk also entered the UEFA Conference League first qualifying round, losing 0-4 on aggregate to FC Pyunik.
Valletta, on the other hand, entered the UEFA Conference League second qualifying round, losing 1-7 on aggregate to Rakow Częstochowa.

One win, two draws and seven defeats which mean Malta will slip from 41st to at least, 46th in the UEFA Country Ranking.
With regards to payments from UEFA, Floriana will be receiving €175k per qualifying round played as well as the elimination bonus of €350k plus an additional €260k reserved for each domestic champion club that does not qualify for the UCL, UEL or UECL league phase.
Hamrun and Marsaxlokk will receive €175k for the one qualifying round played as well as the elimination bonus of €150k.
On the other hand, Valletta will receive €175k for the qualifying round played as well as the elimination bonus of €350k.
Meanwhile Mgarr United who represented Malta in the UEFA Women’s Champions League will be receiving €75 for taking part in the first qualifying round and a €10,000 bonus for finishing as runner-up in the mini-tournament.
