Present for the press conference which was held at Senglea Nursery’s Centre on Thursday, was Mr. Giovanni Carmelo Navarro, one of Hospice Movement’s volunteers. He explained that the Hospice Movement offers help and care for patients with a terminal illness and also offers support to the patients’ families.
Senglea Nursery President, Mr. Stephen Spiteri gave details about the tournament, stressing the importance of promoting in younger children the love of helping others and the objective of this tournament, aimed towards helping such a noble organization, which helps a lot of people.
Even though Senglea Nursery is a small nursery, it always seeks to help organisations in need of fund-raising. All proceeds from activities carried out by Senglea Nursery for such causes go towards these organisations. This season, Senglea Nursery also organised a tournament in aid of an organisation which takes care of stray cats. These two tournaments are held in order to educate the Senglea youngsters in helping and promote generosity.
A fee of €25 per team will be donated to the Hospice Movement.
Teams interested to participate should phone Senglea Nursery’s President on 79373836 or e-mail sengleanursery@hotmail.com. Each nursery can participate with a maximum of 3 teams for each category. Applications will be received on a first come first served basis and the closing date will be Sunday, 25th March.
