The Dylan Bugeja Tournament, organised by the Senglea Nursery for the third year round, in aid of the Hospice Movement was held earlier this month at the Tal-Ponta Ground in Senglea. All the proceeds of this tournament went to the Malta Hospice Movement, now known as Hospice Malta – a movement which offers care for all terminal patients and provides support to their families.
Tournaments were held on a triangular basis and were open for the Under-8, Under-11, Under-13 and Under-15 categories. All nurseries were invited to take part and Mtarfa, Vittoriosa Stars, St. Andrews Luxol, San Gwann, Safi, Mosta, St. George’s, Attard and other mixed teams, besides Senglea, took part in this feast of solidarity.
During an official presentation which was held on April 4th, Senglea Nursery President Stephen Spiteri expressed his thanks and appreciation towards the participating nurseries and presented the sum of €900 to The Malta Hospice Movement Chairman, Dr. Vincent Zammit.
Dr. Zammit thanked Senglea Nursery for organising the tournament once again and for the generosity shown by this club and all the nurseries who took part.
Mr. Spiteri concluded by stating that the Dylan Bugeja Tournament has become a yearly event and hoped that next year, more nurseries will contribute and participate in this charitable and noble cause.
