For the third consecutive year and after the success of the previous editions, Senglea Nursery will be organising a one-day Football Festival in aid of The Malta Hospice Movement. This tournament, the Dylan Bugeja Tournament, is named after a Senglea Nursery player who died two years ago. All the proceeds collected during this tournament will be devolved towards the Malta Hospice Movement.
During a news conference, held at Senglea Nursery’s Centre Dr. Vincent Zammit, Chairman of The Malta Hospice Movement, explained how the organisation helps and offers care to patients with a terminal illness while supporting their families.
Senglea Nursery President, Mr. Stephen Spiteri spoke about the organisation of this tournament, stressing the importance of promoting in younger children the love of helping others. He said the objective behind this tournament was that of supporting this organisation which helps several people.
On Sunday, 3rd April 2011, nurseries will be participating in a 5-a-side tournament at the Tal-Ponta synthetic pitch at Senglea. This tournament is open for Under 8, Under 11, Under 13 and Under 15 teams. A fee of €25 per team will be donated to the Hospice Movement.
Teams interested to participate should phone Senglea Nursery’s President on 79373836 or e-mail sengleanursery@hotmail.com. Each nursery can participate with a maximum of 3 teams for each category. Participating teams will be based on a first come first served basis and the closing date will be Friday, 25th March.
