The team, under the charge of Pierre Brincat, will be playing three matches in as many days. This will be a stiff test to which the players are not accustomed. Nevertheless, in the past months the squad went through an intensive programme of physical preparation in order meet the tough demands later this month.
Malta faces Israel on Tuesday, Greece on Wednesday and Azerbaijan on Thursday.
Brincat named a 21-strong squad, namely:
goalkeepers Keoney Demicoli (Hibs), Rachel Borg (Mosta), Yasmine Farrugia (Kirkop);
defenders Tara Attard (Kirkop), Charlene Cassia (Mosta), Emily Pace (St. Venera), Megan Jones (School of Excellence), Nicole Cutajar (Hamrun);
midfielders Nicole Micallef (Raiders), Alishia Sultana (Birkirkara), Brenda Borg (Mgarr), Leanne Micallef (Pembroke), Nicole Borg (Hibs), Luana Vella (Mgarr), Rodianna Borg (Raiders), Andy Zammit Mizzi (Raiders), Celine Galea (Kirkop);
forwards Yanika Mercieca (Gozo), Raina Giusti (Birkirkara), Darya Attard (Pembroke), Rodianne Zerafa (Zurrieq).
