Birzebbuga St. Peter’s defeated another First Division side Msida St. Joseph 1-0 while Gudja United beat Zejtun Corinthians 4-3 on penalties following a goalless draw at the Centenary Stadium.
St. George’s registered a dramatic 4-3 win over Zabbar St. Patrick while Zebbug Rangers beat Dingli Swallows 3-0 in two clashes between teams from Divisions 1 and 2 at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.
Anderson Mendes Ribeiro put Zebbug ahead on the half-hour. Mauricio Britto doubled the score on 72 minutes and Keith Vella sealed the issue with a third goal four minutes later.
At the Luxol Stadium, Mellieha defeated Gharghur 4-1. Chris Abela put the Blues ahead on the 7th minute but Keith Fedele levelled matters on the 16th. However Chris Abela scored again to put Mellieha 2-1 ahead on 22 minutes, adding another nine minutes from time. In stoppage time, Matthew Borg scored a fourth goal.
