Seven Premier League clubs will be seeking a place in the quarter-finals of the U*BET FA Trophy as the remaining six fourth round matches will be played between Tuesday and Wednesday.
At the Centenary Stadium on Tuesday, holders Hibernians face First Division side Gudja United.
The Paolites defeated Mosta 2-1 in the third round. Gudja, on the other hand, beat Ta’ Xbiex 6-0 and Senglea Athletic 2-0. They are currently fourth in Division 1.
On Wednesday, Valletta host Nadur Youngsters at the Centenary Stadium. The Citizens beat Hamrun Spartans 3-1. Nadur, on the other hand, beat Gharb Rangers 8-1, Marsaxlokk 1-0 and Zejtun Corinthians 3-1. They lead the way in the Melita First Division in Gozo.
The other match at the Centenary Stadium is the all-Premier League clash between Qormi and Birkirkara.
In the third round, Qormi – finalists last season – beat Second Division side Pembroke Athleta 5-2 after extra-time while the Stripes defeated Tarxien Rainbows 1-0.
Rabat Ajax travel to the Gozo Stadium to face Sannat Lions.
The Magpies beat Pietà Hotspurs 1-0. Sannat, on the other hand, beat Kalkara 2-0, Swieqi United 6-1 and St. Patrick 2-1 in the previous rounds. The Lions are currently at the bottom of the Melita First Division in Gozo.
At the Victor Tedesco Stadium, Balzan take on First Division side Gzira United.
The Maroons, who are currently ninth in the BOV First Division, registered identical 1-0 wins over Sirens and SK Victoria Wanderers. Balzan, on the other hand, defeated Naxxar Lions 4-3 after extra-time in the third round.
First Division side Lija Athletic face Floriana in the other match.
Lija – leaders in the BOV First Division – defeated Siggiewi 3-1 and Gharghur 2-1. Floriana, on the other hand, beat Melita 2-0.
In the quarter-finals, the winner of Balzan vs Gzira faces Qormi or Birkirkara; St. Andrews will meet the winner of Lija vs Floriana; the winner of Sannat vs Rabat takes on Valletta or Nadur while the winner of the clash between Gudja and Hibernians meet Zebbug Rangers.
St. Andrews and Zebbug Rangers were in fact the first two teams to reach the quarter-finals after defeating Mqabba 4-1 after extra-time and Marsaskala 3-0 respectively.
