The Maroons have been enjoying the top spot since mid-September but a draw with Pietà Hotspurs in their last outing left them just two points ahead of Valletta and Hibernians. The Citizens therefore could move top should they beat them on Friday.
However, Gzira are still unbeaten, dropping their only points in two draws. Valletta, on the other hand, lost their first two matches but then registered seven successive wins.
This game puts against each other the best forward line – Valletta with twenty nine goals and the best defence – Gzira with five goals.
