Floriana FC have announced that president Riccardo Gaucci has stepped down from his post.
The Greens suffered a second defeat in four matches on Friday, losing 1-2 to Santa Lucia, but his resignation is reportedly linked to the fact that the club has not been given the green light yet to start the project at the Independence Arena.
Gaucci had been appointed as president in February 2014 and last season, the club won the championship for the first time since 1993 after finishing on top when the BOV Premier League was terminated due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
