Davide Mazzotta

Malta Under-21 Coach Davide Mazzotta has named a final 23-man squad for the upcoming international friendly double-header against San Marino.

The young Maltese side will be travelling to San Marino on Tuesday ahead of their two fixtures.

Malta U21 will first be facing San Marino on Wednesday 4th June 2025 at the Ezio Conti di Dogana Stadium, with kick-off at 18:00hrs.

Following that encounter, there will be a second match between the two sides on Saturday 7th June 2025 at the Campo di Acquaviva, with the same kick-off time (18:00hrs).

The two encounters will serve as Coach Mazzotta’s second international window leading the U21 National Team, having also coached them to a 1-1 draw in an international friendly against Estonia in March.

The two matches will be vital in helping the young team gain further international experience, especially ahead of the upcoming UEFA EURO U21 Qualifiers, that will commence with a home match against Greece in September.

Coach Mazzotta had initially named a 28-man provisional squad, but after taking a closer look at the players over the past few weeks, he has selected the players who will be travelling to San Marino.

The squad selected features a number of foreign-based players, highlighting how Maltese players are getting more opportunities to play abroad.
