The Malta Football Association released the first set of fixtures for the BOV Challenge League, covering the period September-December.
The BOV Challenge League will kick-off on Saturday September 13 with the matches Marsa vs Zurrieq and Santa Lucia vs Mtarfa at the Centenary Stadium and Victor Tedesco Stadium respectively. Later on Saturday, Melita face Swieqi United and Birzebbuga St. Peter’s face Pieta’ Hotspurs at the Centenary Stadium and Victor Tedesco Stadium respectively.
On Sunday 14, the Centenary Stadium will host St. Andrews vs Mgarr United and Zebbug Rangers vs Fgura United while Vittoriosa Stars vs Sirens and Balzan vs Gudja United will be played at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.

The league will retain the same format as last season and will therefore be divided into two phases.
During the First Phase, the league shall be played by all the sixteen clubs on a single round-robin basis.
At the end of the First Phase, the top eight teams shall play against each other on a Single Round Robin basis in the Top Eight Round while the bottom eight shall play against each other on a Single Round Robin basis in the Play-Out Round.
The top team in the Top 8 will be declared champion and will be promoted to the Malta Premier along with the runner-up while the bottom two teams in the Play-Out Round will be relegated to the Amateur League 1.
