The Malta FA and Würth Malta, a fully owned subsidiary of the International Würth Group, are delighted to announce a new two-year extension of their agreement sponsoring match officials, further strengthening a long-standing collaboration founded on shared values of professionalism, integrity and excellence.
Malta FA General Secretary Dr Maria Azzopardi and Würth Malta Managing Director Arthur Calleja formalised the renewed partnership.
Since 1970, Würth has been omnipresent in its efforts to support sports in every facet and discipline across all continents and has become synonymous with the values of giving it one’s all, team spirit, and performance at the highest levels. These are values that are upheld in sports and significantly shape Würth Group’s corporate culture.
The two-year extension, covering 2025-2027, continues to build on the previous agreement, which covered 2023-2025. This is a testament to Würth’s commitment in supporting the national football scene.
Through this extension, the Würth logo will continue to be present on match officials’ kits across all levels of Maltese football in men’s and women’s divisions in Malta, across all ages, as well as local futsal leagues.
Commenting on the signing, Dr Azzopardi stated: “Today’s renewal is a testament to the trust and shared commitment between the Malta FA and Würth.”
“Our match officials are central to the integrity of the game, and this partnership helps us continue investing in their development and professional environment. We are proud to move forward together,” she added.
On his behalf, Mr Calleja remarked: “I am delighted on behalf of the company to continue this cooperation with such a prestigious local institution, the Malta Football Association.”
“Sponsoring the match officials reflects discipline, commitment and technique, these three qualities are aligned within our culture as a company and Group promoting sports, in this case football, across all ages and sections of society is indeed a privilege,” he added.
This collaboration marks another significant step in supporting the match officials who play an essential role in safeguarding the integrity and smooth running of football in Malta. The Malta FA looks forward to continuing its journey alongside Würth, working together to raise standards and contribute positively to the sporting community.
