Valletta and Hamrun Spartans dropped their first points in the YoHealth Malta Premier Closing Round League Phase as they shared the spoils in a goalless draw at the Tony Bezzina Stadium on Saturday.
Both sides were eager to get the three points but the two teams cancelled out each other, having to settle for a point.
The best chances during the first half were for the Spartans who went close with a diagonal shot by Jonny from the left ending just wide and on 39 minutes, Ryan Camenzuli delivered a cross from the left with Damir Ceter heading just wide.
Camenzuli had a low powerful drive from outside the area ending just wide on 59 minutes but three minutes from time, Yuri almost put the Citizens ahead with an overhead kick, when served by Brewer, which was neutralised by Celio. Finally, on 90 minutes, Danilo Bulevardi, served by Guillaumier, had a shot from inside the area ending just wide.
