Two goals in the first eleven minutes were enough for Hamrun Spartans to wrap up their BOV Premier League campaign with a 2-0 win over Gudja United in their final match at the National Stadium.
The presentation of the BOV Premier League trophy followed with Bank of Valletta Chief Executive Officer Kenneth Farrugia and Malta FA President Bjorn Vassallo presenting the trophy to Hamrun Spartans captain Steve Borg.
For Hamrun, this was the ninth championship in the history of the club and the second in three years since the appointment of Joseph Portelli as president.

The Spartans took the lead on the 2nd minute when a cross by Ryan Camenzuli from the left was blocked by Glenn Zammit and Elvis Mashike took the loose ball, hitting home from close range.
Hamrun doubled the score on the 11th when off a Roko Prsa corner from the right, Zammit punched the ball out of the area but Ryan Camenzuli placed the ball at the back of the net with a fine volley from outside the area.
In the second half, Luke Montebello had a powerful shot neutralised by Zammit and then Dodo was unlucky to hit the crossbar direct from a corner on 69 minutes.
For a few minutes, eyes turned onto Hamrun president Joseph Portelli, who dressed in a bib over the Hamrun shirt, started warming-up behind the goal post but he later abandoned the pitch and went into the dressing room. However, this stunt was probably an indication that he has not given up yet on the idea of being registered as a player and making an appearance for the club.
Gudja went close to reducing the gap on the 90th with a Vito Plut header which hit the upright following a corner by Navarrete from the right.
