In light of a recent post circulating on social media, our club strongly deplores the indecent remarks made by a highly qualified and renowned technical director of a leading football nursery in Malta.
Lija Athletic FC will not tolerate and firmly condemns such mockery and acts of bullying towards developing nurseries, and most importantly, towards children who are still in the early stages of their football journey.
A person in such a high-profile coaching position should know better. We therefore call on the competent Association and Football Foundation to take appropriate action. Moreover, we believe that an apology is not only owed to Lija Athletic FC – but above all to the young players, their parents and their coaches, who dedicate their time and make daily sacrifices to nurture the love of the game.
As a club and academy, we sincerely hope that such mockery will not be tolerated and that incidents of this nature will never be repeated.
