Birkirkara secured the services of two new foreign defenders – Brazilian Jonathan Maciel ad Spanish Ricardo Jimenez. Both signed a one-year deal with the club.
Jonathan, who holds Italian citizenship was on trial with the club and left a good impression in the friendly match against Khazar Lankaran of Azerbijan on Saturday. Ricardo, on the other hand, took part in the Euro Cup Friendly Tournament match against Hibernians and the friendly against Khazar.
The Stripes had earlier secured the services of two strikers – Senegalese Demba Toure and Nigerian Frank Temile.
Meanwhile Birkirkara reached an agreement with Lija Athletic over the transfer of goalkeeper Ini Etim Akpan. The Nigerian born, neutralised Maltese goalkeeper signed a five-year contract. He had joined the Stripes on loan last season.
