BOV Division 2: Mqabba champions — Marsaskala relegated

Mqabba-Second-Division-Champions2014Mqabba were declared BOV Second Division champions after beating Siggiewi 3-1 in one of the final six matches from Division 2 on Saturday. This win put Leslie Burke’s side three points ahead of Pembroke Athleta and Fgura United who had secured promotion to Division 1 two weeks ago. Pembroke lost 1-3 to Zabbar St. Patrick while Fgura United were held in a goalless draw by Senglea Athletic.

In the lower part of the table, Marsaskala were condemned to playing in Division 3 next season despite beating Marsa 3-2 as Dingli Swallows defeated Mellieha 3-1 in another match.

Gharghur defeated Mdina Knights 4-2 while on Friday, San Gwann beat Kirkop United 2-1.

Mqabba ended their commitments on 52 points, followed by Pembroke and Fgura on 49, San Gwann and Zabbar 46, Gharghur 39, Mellieha 37, Senglea 33, Marsa 31, Dingli 29, Siggiewi 28, Marsaskala 27, Kirkop 20 and Mdina 10.
