Champions Valletta secured the services of Cameroonian striker Raphael Alain Kooh Sohna.
Kooh Sohna has been playing for Pietà Hotspurs in the last two years, ending both seasons as top-scorer – 18 goals in 2012/13 and 28 goals last season. He is the third new foreigner to sign for the Citizens after Hugo Faria and Hamid Al Kamali.
Thirty-one year old midfielder Hugo Miguel Encarnação Pires Faria played for Louletano, Leiria, Olhanense in his home country before moving to Enosis Paralimni in Cyprus in 2008. Last season, he moved to Greece to play for AEL Kalloni.
On the other hand, twenty-five year old central defender Hamid Ismaeel Mohamed Al Kamali played for Al Wahda FC in Abu Dhabi, UAE but had a short spell with Lyon in France.
The Citizens had earlier signed Nicky Vella, Ryan Camilleri and Maltese-Australian Adrian Zahra.
Meanwhile the club’s official website www.vallettafc.net announced that Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza and Samir Arab were loaned to Balzan while Dyson Falzon moved to Mosta on loan. Mifsud Triganza was expected to join Zebbug but the deal fell through.
Edmond Agius left the club to join Birkirkara while Steve Borg is expected to sign for Platinum Stars in South Africa despite reports in Cyprus that he was close to joining Anorthosis Famagusta.
