Two new foreign players for Floriana

Floriana continued to strenghten their squad with the signing of Argentine striker Nicolas Hernan Chiesa and Italian forward Mario Fontanella.

Thirty-five year old Chiesa started his career with Argentinos Juniors but then moved to Europe where he played for Politehnica Iasi in Romania before playing for Grottaglie, Brindisi, Pisa, Forza e Coraggio Benevento, Martina Franca, Lupa Roma and Lupa Castelli Romani.

Twenty-five year old Fontanella was on the books of Napoli in season 2007/08 but then played for Barletta, Viribus Unitis, FC Neapolis, USD Noto Calcio, Sarnese, Bastia 1924 and Polisportiva Calcio Budoni.

The Greens, who have appointed Luis Oliveira as their new coach, had earlier signed Jurgen Pisani from Pietà, Firas Aboulezz from Tarxien and Italian midfielder Federico Usai. On the other hand, they lost Valerio Senatore to Balzan, Vito Plut and Marcelina Emerson to Birkirkara while Sacha Borg and Brooke Farrugia joined Gzira United on loan.
