Domestic competitions will come to an end on May 4 with the U*BET FA Trophy final.
The MFA CEO spoke about the financial incentives for clubs which include the provision of match balls and the payment of match officials and venues on behalf of clubs.
Bjorn Vassallo said the decision to have BOV Premier League matches on Saturdays and Sundays was a decision taken together with clubs since Friday fixtures were not attractive neither for clubs nor for spectators.
Vassallo revealed this could be the last season with the current Premier League format as a proposal for a more competitive format will be discussed early next year.
Deputy General Secretary Rodney Pisani explained that there will be only a short break for the festive season with all leagues coming to an end by April 26/27.
BOV Premier League matches will be played at the National Stadium, Centenary Stadium and Victor Tedesco Stadium in the early part of the season with the Hibernians Stadium being used as from the last week of November.
