Zabbar hit four past ten-man Hibernians

Zabbar St. Patrick returned to winning ways as they defeated a Hibernians side reduced to ten men 4-0 in a match from the 360Sports Malta Premier at the National Stadium on Saturday.

This was the third win for the Saints and the third defeat for the Paolites as both teams now share, at least temporarily, the third place on the 9-point mark together with Sliema, Birkirkara, Marsaxlokk and Mosta.

Zabbar took the lead on 18 minutes when off a Stefan Ilic freekick from the left, a header by Strahinja Jovancic was partially saved by goalkeeper Hugo Sacco and Kristian Keqi hit home from close range.

Just before the end of the first half, Pedrao was sent off for the Paolites, leaving his side in ten men for the whole of the second half.

Substitute David Oliveira doubled the score thirteen minutes in the second half when he hit home off the rebound after Sacco saved partially a close-range header off a cross by Ilic from the left.

Ten minutes later, Brian Gambarte made it 3-0 when David Oliveira had a shot blocked by a defender and the Zabbar captain controlled the ball before placing it in the bottom right corner.

Two minutes from time, David Oliveira scored the Saints’ fourth goal, beating Sacco after the Hibs goalkeeper blocked a Vinicius De Paiva effort.
