Two standout performers have been recognised for their impressive performances during the December-January period as Shona Zammit, of Swieqi United, and Valletta’s Suzanne Farrugia Sacco were voted Assikura Player of the Month in their respective categories.

In the Assikura Women’s League, Swieqi United captain Zammit has been rewarded for her leadership and influence in midfield. Zammit featured in six matches across the two months, scoring once and helping her side collect 13 crucial points, including a vital 2-1 victory over title rivals Birkirkara. Her talent and composure were instrumental as newly crowned champions Swieqi continued their successful push towards their first ever league title.

In the Assikura Women’s Youth League, Farrugia Sacco was in top form during December-January, scoring five goals in seven matches. Her contributions were vital in helping Valletta earn a spot in the Top Four.

Both players demonstrated great form and played pivotal roles for their respective teams, making them worthy recipients of the honours.

Andrew Grech, Managing Director and Lucienne Cini, Chief Operations Officer at Assikura Insurance Brokers PCC Ltd presented the awards to Zammit and Farrugia Sacco at the company’s offices in Santa Venera. This is the third year Assikura Insurance Brokers PCC Limited are sponsoring the Women’s League and Women’s Youth League along with the Knock-Out competitions and the Super Cup.
