Birkirkara signed Argentine twenty nine year old midfielder Marcos Damián Maydana.

A product of Rosario Central, Marcos Maydana also played for Patronato in Argentina before joining RFC Seraing in Belgium. He then moved to Italy where he played for Nereto, Alto Casertano, Mariglianese, Santa Mairia Cilento, Termoli and Gela.

Birkirkara had earlier signed goalkeeper Miguel Ángel Martínez, Jan Busuttil, Franklin Sasere, Macula, Geoffrey Acheampong and Fran Lopez and confirmed Luis Cordova, Leandro Lacunza, Manuel Morello, Pablo Gaitan and Donovan Makoma and released Giacomo Volpe, Agustin Sandona, Larsson Coulibaly, Brian Esalo and Gnamien Yipke with Maxuell Samurai moving to Gzira United.
