Valletta sign German defender

Valletta secured the services of German twenty nine year old central defender Moise Emmanuel Mbende.

Mbende, who also holds a Cameroonian passport, started his career at SC Weitmar and played at Borussia Dortmund and Birmingham at youth level before joining Chemnitzer in Germany and later SC Cambuur in the Netherlands. he then moved to Italy, playing for Catania, Viterbese and Monterosi before joining Gostivar in North Macedonia last summer.

The Citizens, who have confirmed Thane Micallef as their coach, had earlier signed goalkeeper Adilson Maringá, Yannick Yankam and Shaft Brewer Jr and agreed new deals with goalkeeper Timmy Aquilina, Zachary Cassar and Andrea Zammit but James Scicluna, Peter Xuereb, Ayrton Attard, Neil Tabone, Christian Gauci, Enoch Mushagalusa, Enzo Ruiz, Aidan Friggieri and Jefferson Ferreira were not retained.
