Marsaxlokk FC secured the services of Malta thirty five year old international central defender Enrico Pepe.

Pepe started his career with Campobasso and later played for Salernitana, Cassino, Siracusa, Paganese and ACR Messina. He moved to Malta in 2015 to join Floriana and three years later, joined Hamrun Spartans. In 2019, he signed for Birkirkara where he spent five years before joining Gzira United last summer.

The Southseasiders, who have confirmed Enzo Potenza as their coach, had earlier signed goalkeepers Christopher Mafoumbi and Pablo Sanchez, Triston Caruana, Weder Silva and Oualid El Hasni. On the other hand, Karl Micallef, Ryan Scicluna, Duane Bonnici, Lucas Lopez and Yuri Messias moved elsewhere.
