Gzira United FC secured the services of thirty nine year old defender Clayton Failla.

A product of St. Patrick, Failla joined Hibernians in January 2005. In summer 2009, he moved to Sliema Wanderers but after two years with the Wanderers, he moved back to Hibernians where he spent seven years. In summer 2018, he moved to Floriana but in the January transfer window, Failla joined Birkirkara. Failla signed for Hamrun Spartans in summer 2019 but one year later, moved to Mosta where he spent the last five years.

The Maroons, who had earlier appointed Clive Mizzi as their new coach, have so far signed goalkeepers Aleksander Lubik and Karl Sargent, Mathias Conti, Deacon Abela, David Xuereb, Andre, Marc Van de Bovenkamp Font, Jork Becerra, Maxuell Samurai, Santiago Martinez, Johan Bonilla, Pablo Fonseca and Kante with Enrico Pepe, Lucas Macula, Jackson Mendoza and Thaylor Aldama moving elsewhere.
