Swieqi United were unlucky to lose in extra-time against hosts Spartak Myjava in the final of Group 2 of the UEFA Women’s Champions League at the Stadion Myjava in Slovakia.
Sara Saliba put Swieqi ahead on 36 minutes but one minute from the end of the first half, Tamara Kramlikova levelled matters.
With no goals being scored in the second half, the match went into extra-time and eleven minutes in the first half of extra-time, Andrea Bogorova notched the winner.
Therefore Swieqi United, in their first experience in European football, had to settle for second place in the group.
