Naxxar Lions FC continued to strengthen their squad with the signing of Brazilian twenty six year old winger João Victor Souza dos Santos.

A product of Internacional, Vitinho played for Vejle in Denmark and Helsinki IFK in Finland before returning to Brazil where he played for Ferroviario and SE Gama. He returned to Europe to join Iraklis in Greece but on his return to Brazil, he played for Primavera, Real Noroeste, Rio Branco and Desportiva Ferroviaria.

The Lions, who have confirmed George Vella as their coach, had earlier signed Rosiel, Cedric Kontchou, Makoto Kikushima, Neto, Sekala Guehi, Diego, Gustavo Felipe, Christian Gauci, Nathan Demicoli, Mike Hudson, Deisler Agius, Felippe Bugeja , Jayden Fenech and Nathan Demicoli while confirming Matthias Debono, Edward Bolanos, Joao Moura, Giuseppe Bonanno and Mattias Micallef with Mark Fenech returning to the club after a spell on loan.
