Naxxar Lions FC continued to strengthen their squad with the signing of Brazilian twenty nine year old forward Alexandro Soares Firmino.

Firmino started his career at Naviraiense and then played for Costa Rica, Falcon, Gremio Maringa, Dourados, Operario, Marcilio Dias, Pantanal, Iguacu, Sao Jose and Arapongas before moving to Bahrain to join Al Shabab.

The Lions, who have confirmed George Vella as their coach, had earlier signed Rosiel, Cedric Kontchou, Makoto Kikushima, Neto, Sekala Guehi, Diego, Gustavo Felipe, Vitinho, Christian Gauci, Nathan Demicoli, Mike Hudson, Deisler Agius, Felippe Bugeja, Jayden Fenech and Nathan Demicoli while confirming Matthias Debono, Edward Bolanos, Joao Moura, Giuseppe Bonanno and Mattias Micallef with Mark Fenech returning to the club after a spell on loan.
