Sliema Wanderers signed French-Malian thirty one year old defensive midfielder Boubakary Diarra.

Diarra joined Torino at youth level and then played for Bra and Rieti in Italy, Kruoja in Lithuania, SC Covilha, Tondela, Cova Piedade and Varzim in Portugal, Kazma SC in Kuwait and after moving to Malta to join Mosta, he joined PSIS in Indonesia.

The Wanderers, who have confirmed Paul Zammit as their coach, had earlier announced the signing of Rashed Al Tumi, Roko Prsa, Miguel Baggio, Sulahmana Mamadu Bah, Thiaguinho and Luke Montebello. Meanwhile Josip Bender, Geoffrey Acheampong, Simon Zibo, Maksym Pryadun, Samba Kone, Mohamed Awad, Samuel Gomes and Haaran Barbosa are no longer with the club.
