Birkirkara part ways with coach Stefan De Angelis

Birkirkara FC announced that, by mutual agreement, the contract with Head Coach Stefano De Angelis has been terminated with immediate effect.

The Italian coach had joined the Stripes in summer 2024, leading them to the 360Sports Malta Premier Final Four where they ended as losing finalists. They also reached the final of the Meridianbet FA Trophy where they lost to Hibernians. This season they were eliminated by Petrocub Hincesti with a 3-1 aggregate score in the UEFA Conference League and were held in goalless draws by Valletta and Gzira United in the first two matches from the YoHealth Malta Premier.

“We thank Coach De Angelis for his service to the Club, including leading the team to two finals last season and wish him every success in the future.”

The club said that it is in the final stages of appointing a new Head Coach after finalising the shortlist of candidates.
