Marsaxlokk take sole leadership

Marsaxlokk returned to winning ways to take sole leadership in the YoHealth Malta Premier Opening Round as they defeated Gzira United 2-0 at the Tony Bezzina Stadium on Wednesday. 

A win which puts them one point ahead of the teams in second place – Valletta and Hamrun Spartans. Gzira, on the other hand, suffer the second defeat in four matches and remain second from bottom on two points along with Zabbar St. Patrick. 

Weder Silva put the Southseasiders ahead on 36 minutes and two minutes in added time, before the end of the first half, Nevin Portelli doubled the score.
