Hibernians are the new leaders of the YoHealth Malta Premier Opening Round League Phase as they defeated bottom-placed Naxxar Lions 2-0 at the National Stadium on Saturday.

Hibs now lie one point ahead of Floriana, two ahead of Hamrun and Marsaxlokk and three ahead of Valletta but the Citizens have a game in hand. 

Naxxar, on the other hand, remain anchored at the bottom of the table with a fourth defeat in five matches,

Cleiton put the Paolites ahead after just two minutes and Lucas Villela doubled the score on 73 minutes.
