The BOV Amateur League II kicked-off on Sunday with the first three matches.
At the Sirens Stadium, Mdina Knights beat Marsaskala 4-2. Wisdom Ifeanyi put Mdina ahead on 6 minutes and Giovanni Galea doubled the score five minutes later. Matthew Borg made it 3-0 on 51 minutes with Zack Agius reducing the gap on 72 minutes. Giovanni Galea scored again for Mdina on 74 minutes with Vivi-Gaetan Mahop scoring a second goal for Marsaskala.
Siggiewi beat Gharghur 2-1 in another match at the Sirens Stadium. Gabriel Calleja opened the scoring on 33 minutes. John Paul Delia doubled the score on 69 minutes with Aaron Alfredo Doda pulling one back for Gharghur nine minutes from time.
At the Charles Abela Stadium, Msida St. Joseph beat Sta. Venera Lightnings 3-1.
Taiwo David Akindele put Msida ahead on 4 minutes and although Ryan Agius equalised on 22 minutes, Nicky Attard Portuguese restored the lead on 27 minutes and Akindele sealed the issue with a third goal four minutes later.
