Melita registered an impressive 5-1 win over Zurrieq at the Victor Tedesco Stadium in a match from the BOV Challenge League on Sunday.
Jean Pierre Attard put Melita ahead on 15 minutes and a Jesus Yepez double on 49 and 55 minutes and a goal by Quadri Olanshile Allionida on 63 minutes put victory beyond any doubt. Timothy Cassar Torregiani added another two minutes in added time.
At the Victor Tedesco Stadium, goals by Gabriel Cruz on 22 minutes and Atem Dor Joe on 90 minutes handed Marsa a 2-0 win over Mtarfa.
Goals by Renan Farias on 41 minutes and Arthur Stelmach on 46 minutes handed Pieta’ Hotspurs a 2-0 win over Vittoriosa Stars at the Centenary Stadium while in another match at the same venue, a goal by Cristian eight minutes from time handed Mgarr United a narrow win over Birzebbuga St. Peter’s.
