South Sudanese forward Ayom Majok was the hero for Marsaxlokk as he scored twice in a 2-0 win over Tarxien Rainbows in a match from the YoHealth Malta Premier Opening Round league phase at the Centenary Stadium on Thursday.
Marsaxlokk therefore returned to winning ways after two defeats and a draw in the last three matches and now lie in fifth place on 13 points, one behind Hibernians, two behind Valletta and Hamrun and three behind leaders Floriana but these all have a game in hand. Tarxien, on the other hand, are third from bottom, one point behind Zabbar and Gzira and one ahead Naxxar and Mosta.
The Rainbows had Ofufu Ibeh sent off on 29 minutes but it was only on 63 minutes that Marsaxlokk managed to break the deadlock thanks to Ayom Majok. Majok doubled the score six minutes later to seal the issue.
