Attard registered a third win in as many matches in the BOV Amateur League I as they defeated Qormi 7-4 at the Luxol Stadium on Saturday.
Staline Degabriele put Attard ahead on 3 minutes and although Jayden Zac Borg equalised two minutes later, Attard regained the lead thanks to a goal by Precious Uchechukwu Nwankwo on 8 minutes. Nwankwo made it 3-1 on the half hour and although Jayden Zac Borg reduced the gap for Qormi two minutes later, Nick Ghio scored again for Attard on 42 minutes. In added time, David Garba Emmanuel scored for Qormi. Nwankwo extended the lead to 5-3 six minutes in the second half. Nicholas Schembri made it 6-3 and although David Garba Emmanuel scored a fourth goal for Qormi on 62 minutes, Nwankwo scored his fourth goal to make it 7-4.
Mqabba moved second thanks to a 4-0 win over Xghajra Tornados at the Sirens Stadium thanks to goals by Luca Bugeja on the 41st a goal by Luka Mijic on 55 minutes, a penalty by Mijic on 61 minutes and Paolo Zammit on 76 minutes.
Luqa St. Andrew’s defeated Zejtun Corinthians 2-1 at the Luxol Stadium. Collins Gyamfi handed Luqa the lead on 33 minutes and two minutes from time, Nathan Frendo doubled the score. Clyde Bouvet pulled one back four minutes in added time.
At the Sirens Stadium, Kirkop United came back from two goals down to rescue a point in a 2-2 draw with Senglea Athletic. Ogechukwi Junior Ohalewe put Senglea ahead on 4 minutes and Timothy Thomas doubled the score on the 20th. Giorgio Bellia reduced the gap on 56 minutes and one minute later, Sedna Dicko equalised for Kirkop.
Attard lead the way with 9 points, followed by Mqabba on 6, Qrendi and Kirkop 5, Zejtun, Senglea and Luqa 4, Victoria, San Gwann, Qormi and Mellieha 3, Lija, Xghajra and Pembroke 1.
