Mdina Knights moved third in the BOV Amateur League II as a goal by Miguel Caleja on 32 minutes handed them a narrow win over St. George’s at the Luxol Stadium.
Joining them in third place are Msida St. Joseph who beat Dingli Swallows 1-0 at the Sirens Stadium thanks to a goal by Taiwo David Akindele three minutes from the end of the first half.
A goal by Aaron Alfredo Dodo on 2 minutes handed Gharghur a narrow win over Sta. Venera Lightnings at the Luxol Stadium while the clash between Ghaxaq and Marsaskala at the Sirens Stadium ended in a 2-2 draw. Bryon Madu put Marsaskala ahead on 22 minutes and Craig Joyce doubled the score on 44 minutes. However Ghaxaq rescued a point with goals by Neil Brownrigg on 53 minutes and Aaron Agius three minutes from time.
Kalkara lead the way with 12 points, followed by Rabat on 9, Mdina and Msida 8, Dingli 7, St. George’s 6, Ta’ Xbiex 4, Sta. Venera, Gharghur and Siggiewi 3, Marsaskala and Ghaxaq 2.
