Marsaskala registered their first win as they defeated Gharghur 2-1 in a match from the BOV Amateur League II at the Centenary Stadium on Friday.
Leon El Yeferni put Marsaskala ahead on 5 minutes and although Aaron Alfredo Doda equalised on 37 minutes, Federico Galea made it 2-1 on 72 minutes.
In another match, Siggiewi defeated Sta. Venera Lightnings 3-2. Juan Artiaga put Siggiewi ahead on 6 minutes and Gabriel Calleja doubled the score on 33 minutes. Andres Martinez converted a penalty for the Lightnings two minutes in the second half but Artiaga made it 3-1 on 62 minutes. Neil Farrugia reduced the gap two minutes from time.
Kalkara lead the way with 15 points, followed by Mdina on 11, St. George’s, Siggiewi and Rabat 9, Msida 8, Ta’ Xbiex and Dingli 7, Siggiewi 6, Marsaskala 5, Sta. Venera and Gharghur 3, Ghaxaq 2.
