Sliema Wanderers, Valletta cross swords in Malta FA Jubilee Cup final

Sliema Wanderers and Valletta will be facing each other in the final of the Malta FA Jubilee Cup final on Monday, kick-off at 17:30.

The Malta FA Jubilee Cup is a one-off competition that is being held as part of the Association’s 125th anniversary. All teams taking part in the MFA leagues, Gozo and representatives from member associations took part in the competition which started in August. 

On their way to the final, Sliema defeated St Andrews on penalties in the Round of 32, Birkirkara 3-2 in the Round of 16, Mosta FC 2-0 and Zabbar St Patrick on penalties in the semi-finals.

Valletta, on the other hand, defeated Melita 1-0 in the Round of 32, Mgarr United 4-0 in the Round of 16, Hamrun Spartans 2-0 in the quarter-finals and Tarxien Rainbows 2-0 in the semi-finals.

The two teams met in September in the YoHealth Malta Premier Opening Round with the clash ending in a 1-1 draw.
