Zurrieq returned to winning ways in the BOV Challenge League as they defeated Zebbug Rangers 4-1 at the Centenary Stadium on Wednesday.
Shaun Bugeja put Zurrieq ahead on 10 minutes and Jonathan Monney doubled the score on 22 minutes. Jhoel Sarraude extended the lead on 61 minutes and although Dylan Agius converted a penalty for Zebbug on 72 minutes, Sarraude added another on 74 minutes.
Balzan lead the way with 22 points, followed by Birzebbuga on 21, Melita 19, Fgura 18, St. Andrews 16, Sirens, Pieta’, Mgarr and Swieqi 14, Gudja 13, Zurrieq 12, Santa Lucia 11, Marsa and Vittoriosa 6, Zebbug 1 and Mtarfa -3.
