Qormi came from behind to beat San Gwann 2-1 in a match from the BOV Amateur League I at the Luxol Stadium on Saturday.
Matteo Vella put San Gwann ahead on 21 minutes but Ayrton Azzopardi converted a penalty eight minutes later. Kieran Paul Fenech notched the winner on 73 minutes.
Xghajra Tornados made a brilliant comeback to defeat Senglea Athletic 4-2 in another match at the Luxol Stadium. Steven Meilak put Senglea ahead on 12 minutes and four minutes later, Nigel Scerri doubled the score but Richmond Baratuipre Hanson reduced the gap two minutes from the end of the first half. Raylon Kaylon Paisley equalised on 79 minutes and four minutes later, Dylan Mifsud put Xghajra ahead of the first time. Paisley sealed the issue with another goal one minute in added time.
Lija Athletic extended their positive run with a 2-1 win over Luqa St. Andrew’s at the Sirens Stadium. Ross McParland opened the score on 49 minutes and Amir Amhamed made it 2-0 on 55 minutes. Luqa pulled one back thanks to an own goal on 67 minutes.
In another match, Mellieha and Kirkop United shared the spoils in a goalless draw at the Sirens Stadium.
Attard, Qormi and Mqabba lead the way with 18 points, followed by San Gwann on 16, Qrendi 15, Lija 14, Mellieha 11, Victoria and Zejtun 10, Kirkop and Pembroke 8, Luqa and Xghajra 7 and Senglea 4.
