Birkirkara, Floriana, Gzira United, Hamrun Spartans, Hibernians, Swieqi United, Tarxien Rainbows and Valletta secured a spot in the Round of 16 of the Meridianbet FA Trophy as the first eight matches from the Round of 32 were played on Saturday.
At the Tony Bezzina Stadium, Birkirkara came from behind to beat SK Victoria Wanderers 3-1.
Sam Harland put the Wanderers ahead on 34 minutes but Macula equalised on 54 minutes and went on to put the Stripes ahead on 66 minutes. Jan Busuttil sealed the issue with a third goal on 69 minutes.
A goal by Lucas Lopez three minutes in the second half handed Floriana a narrow win over Marsaxlokk in another match from the Tony Bezzina Stadium.
Gzira United defeated St. Andrews 2-0 at the Centenary Stadium thanks to goals by Santiago Martinez on 63 minutes and Andre on 71 minutes.
Hamrun Spartans beat Victoria Hotspurs 5-0 at the Victor Tedesco Stadium. Shaisen Attard put the Spartans ahead on 5 minutes. Joseph Mbong doubled the score on 61 minutes and two minutes later, Ryan Camenzuli made it 3-0. Hamrun added another two goals thanks to N’Dri Koffi on 72 minutes and Jovan Cadenovic on 73 minutes.
Hibernians beat Gudja United 3-1 at the Centenary Stadium. Cleiton put the Polities ahead on 8 minutes. Lucas Villela doubled the score on 54 minutes and although Aleksa Zivkovic reduced the gap on 58 minutes, Villela added another on 69 minutes.
Tarxien Rainbows defeated Ghajnsielem 4-0 at the Victor Tedesco Stadium thanks to goals by Wallisson Bahia on 25 minutes, Nhayson on 54 minutes, Claudio Murici on 62 minutes and Kyle Gatt on 65 minutes.
In another match at the Victor Tedesco Stadium, Sliema Wanderers were eliminated by Swieqi United after losing 1-2 after extra-time. The Blues ended the game ended in nine men as they had Miguel Baggio and Jean Borg sent off in extra-time.
Isaac Davey put Swieqi ahead on 82 minutes but Roko Prsa equalised four minutes in added time. The game went into extra-time and three minutes in added time, Samuel Okoh notched the winner
On the other hand, a Yuri penalty on 75 minutes handed Valletta and narrow win over Pembroke Athleta at the Centenary Stadium.
