Hamrun Spartans sign Matthew Guillaumier

Hamrun Spartans secured the services of Malta international midfielder Matthew Guillaumier.

A product of St. Andrews, Guillaumier made his senior team debut at the age of 15 in the First Division. He had a spell with Italian side Empoli in the latter part of 2013 before returning to Malta to play on a more regular basis with St. Andrews before the turning out for the Malta Under-17 national team in the UEFA Under-17 Championship finals in May 2014. He moved to Birkirkara in January 2016 but joined Hamrun Spartans in 2020. During season 2021/22, Guillaumier had a six-month spell with Siena in the Italian Serie C and eventually moved to Stal Mielec in Poland in summer 2023. Last summer, he joined Panserraikos in Greece but he became a free agent earlier this month.

The Spartans had earlier signed Italian thirty year old midfielder Danilo Bulevardi and Colombian twenty eight year old forward Damir Céter Valencia.

A product of Pescara, Bulevardi had spells on loan for Ischia, L’Aquila, Teramo and Pordenone. He then moved to Siena, Cavese, Legnano, AS Gubbio, Monopoli and Virtus Verona.

On the other hand, Ceter played for Quindio and Independiente Sante Fe in Colombia before moving to Italy to join Cagliari from where he had spells on loan with Olbia, Chievo Verona and Pescara before moving to Bari and eventually Virtus Verona. In summer 2024, he moved back to Colombia to join Jaguares FC.
