With one match-day to go for the end of the YoHealth Malta Premier Opening Round, Naxxar Lions moved to just one point behind  Zabbar St. Patrick and Mosta in the battle to avoid the second place from bottom in the Bottom 6 as they defeated Zabbar St. Patrick 2-1 at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Thursday. 

Naxxar, in fact, move to the 12 point mark, with Zabbar and Mosta lying on 13 points. Tarxien, on the other hand, finish at the bottom of the table with 7 points. This Sunday, Naxxar will be aimint to beat Tarxien, hoping that either Mosta or Zabbar fail to beat Hibernians and Gzira United respectively.

Naxxar managed to take the lead on 32 minutes thanks to Christopher Fourmy and one minute from the end of the first half, Vinicius Baiano doubled the score.

Seven minutes in the second half, Żabbar reduced the gap thanks to a Mario Fontanella penalty after Pedro Cejas was brought down inside the area.
